Babyzone’s Summer Wellbeing Week in Action

Over the past week, Babyzones across the UK hosted a special Summer Wellbeing event, bringing together families and a wide range of local partners to promote health, wellbeing, and community connection.
These events are at the heart of Babyzone’s mission: making local support accessible, friendly, and part of everyday family life. Families attended their local Babyzone to meet service providers, enjoy hands-on activities, and learn about the resources available to them.
With over 80 unique partners involved across all locations, the event showcased the strength of community collaboration - from health checks and immunisations to drumming workshops and first aid demos, there was something for everyone.
Here’s a look at what happened across the Babyzones:
Babyzone Barnet: Health and Community Connections
Barnet’s event featured partners such as Dr Uka (immunisations), Barnet Libraries’ BookTrust team, Keep A Beat first aid trainers, the NEA (National Energy Action), and the local police. Families received health advice, learned practical first aid skills, and enjoyed early years activities led by Silkstream Children’s Centre and Early Years Barnet.
Babyzone Barking & Dagenham: Family Wellbeing and Support
In Barking & Dagenham, partners included NELFT (infant feeding and weighing), Mind, Barnardo’s, the LBBD Fire Station team, Family Hubs, and the Race Equality Foundation. Families took part in arts-based wellbeing sessions, received mental health support, and got practical guidance on family care and safety.
Babyzone Hammersmith & Fulham: A Hub of Local Support
H&F hosted partners like Midaye, Mama Haven, Young Minds, the NHS Oral Health Team, and the Family Champions Project from the Public Health Team. Parents connected with perinatal support services, joined in wellbeing workshops, and got involved in creative play sessions for little ones.
Babyzone Croydon: Wellbeing Through Music and Support
Croydon’s Summer Wellbeing event combined creative fun with health advice. Families joined an African drumming workshop from Ubuntu Dance to Thrive, met with Croydon Health Services, HENRY, and the local DWP team, and explored parenting support from Future Dads and Croydon Family Hubs.
Babyzone Blackburn: Health Checks and Emotional Wellbeing
In Blackburn, services included Dad Matters, BwD Carers, Lancashire Mind (providing baby loss support), NHS Perinatal Mental Health Team, and the Lancashire School Aged Immunisation Service. Families also took part in creative activities like bracelet-making, while connecting with health and wellbeing services.
Babyzone Warrington: Practical Advice and Community Care
In Warrington, families met with partners including 3D Training, Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), NHS Talking Therapies, Oral Health teams, and Perinatal Mental Health services. Support also came from Early Help Children’s Centres, Kinship Carers, Talking Point, and the Cheshire & Merseyside Cancer Alliance. The event offered a blend of health advice, emotional wellbeing support, and practical guidance on food security and early years care.
Bringing Services Directly to Families
Families can visit Babyzone every week to access support from a trusted network of local partners. This regular access is at the heart of what we do, making it easy for families to get help, ask questions, and build connections in a welcoming, familiar space.
This summer wellbeing event is another example of how Babyzone makes support part of everyday family life, through connection, collaboration, and care.
