We recently hosted our special ‘Our Community’ event, bringing families together with local services and organisations to celebrate connection, support, and early years development.
Each Babyzone invited a range of local partners into their space to meet families, share information, and provide hands-on support. The events offered families the opportunity to explore what’s available to them locally in a relaxed, welcoming environment—while little ones enjoyed engaging activities and play.
Here’s a quick look at what happened in each Youth Zone:
- Croydon welcomed partners including the police, NHS, Family Hubs, and environmental groups. Highlights included fire engine tours and free dehumidifiers and blankets as part of an energy-saving initiative by the NEA.
- Hammersmith & Fulham hosted services such as local libraries, schools, Family Hub, NHS groups, and the fire brigade. Families particularly enjoyed trying out the fire hose and receiving free oral care kits.
- Warrington brought together organisations including Early Help, DWP, Dad Matters, libraries, and oral health support—engaging dozens of families across key early years topics.
- Barking & Dagenham featured a wide variety of services, from infant weighing and feeding to mental health support, oral health, and arts-based wellbeing sessions—reaching and supporting hundreds of families throughout the day.
- Barnet welcomed Happy Baby Community, whilst also running a Babyzone Boost session which involved getting everyone to move and dance together.
This event is a great example of how Babyzone, within the trusted setting of OnSide Youth Zones, brings local services directly to families—making support accessible, friendly, and part of everyday family life.
Stay tuned for more ways we’re connecting families with their communities throughout the year.
