At Babyzone, we believe the smallest moments between a child and their caregiver can shape a lifetime. That is why we are proud to be one of the very first organisations to adopt the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood’s Explainer Series, a beautifully crafted set of animations that bring the science of early childhood to life.
These animations, supported by expert science briefings and practitioner guidance, will be embedded into our work to inspire, train and empower those who matter most in a child’s early years: parents, caregivers and the early years workforce.

1. Embedding in Training
The animations will become part of our induction programme for all new staff and volunteers, giving them a strong foundation in how adult–child interactions support social and emotional development. They will also be used in ongoing professional development, reflective practice and appraisals, ensuring our teams continually deepen their understanding.
2. Supporting Session Leaders
From Baby Sensory classes to Peep facilitators, our leaders will use the animations to strengthen their knowledge and confidence. They will also have the option to share them during sessions, making complex science visual and easy to relate to for families.
3. Engaging Families
We will share the animations in several ways:
Through WhatsApp communities and newsletters, with short and engaging summaries
On posters in our Babyzone spaces, linking directly to the full series online
During in-room Peep sessions, using the films to prompt rich discussions on parenting and early interactions
4. Inspiring the Wider Sector
By showcasing the animations on social media, particularly during national events celebrating the early years, we will encourage other organisations to adopt these resources, amplifying the Royal Foundation’s vision across the sector.
Integrating the Explainer Series across our training, sessions and public engagement will help shift understanding, strengthen practice and spark conversations that last long after the play session ends.
